Ready to tackle the trails with more confidence and less hesitation? Join our women's mountain bike skills clinic, designed to help you BOOST CONFIDENCE on your bike and unlock your full potential on the dirt.

This clinic is a safe, supportive, and fun environment where you can learn and practice fundamental mountain biking skills. We'll focus on the techniques that matter most for building confidence, including:

  • Body Position: Learn the athletic stance that provides stability and control on any terrain.

  • Braking: Master the art of smooth, effective braking to manage speed and maintain traction.

  • Cornering: Discover how to navigate turns with precision and flow.

  • Obstacles: Build the courage to roll over trail obstacles (such as rocks) with confidence.

You'll leave this clinic not just with new skills, but with a big deposit in your confidence bucket and a ready-to-shred mindset!

PRIORITY GIVEN TO FIRST TIME PARTICIPANTS!  

What will we do? We will spend a short bit of time OFF bike learning more about our trusty steeds and then we will spend time focusing on our body position(s), hand and feet positions, braking and then take it to trail!

Who is the coach? BICP-Certified MTB Instructor and Coach Jody from Sonoran STOKE will bring you a fun session of learning about your bike & learning your FUNdamental MTB skills.

When will we meet?  Saturday, November 01, 2025, 8:00am - 11:00am

Where will be meet?  La Posta Quemada Ranch Within Colossal Cave Mountain Park, 16721 E Old Spanish Trail, Vail, AZ 85641

What do I need to bring? Once registered, Coach Jody will send you an email with more information.

How many can attend? 5 riders. Girls under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult (as a clinic participant).

Are eBikes allowed?  No, please bring an analog/acoustic MTB.

COST? $20 SDMB member; $60 Non-member ($40 goes to a one-year SDMB membership, so your next classes will be just $20).

These clinics are made possible by a generous support grant from the Harris Foundation and the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists so you can get top notch certified coaches for a fraction of the cost (Clinic value $140!!). Each clinic will have no more than 5 or 10 riders and 1-2 coaches so there will be lots of 1-1 coaching time!
